Meet the @notdamienart

Inspired by Van Gogh’s bold colors and defining patterns found often in his paintings, Damien pulls from these inspirations and incorporates them into his own art. He’s also a big fan of Pandora Hearts which is evident even in his artwork today when looking at their line art and shading.

However, his biggest inspiration is seeing the joy and impact that his artwork makes on the viewer. It keeps him going even when times are tough.

Damien began drawing early in childhood; around the same time he learned to tie his shoes. He specifically recalls drawing valentines day cards where he drew a cat which was met by a host of compliments from his classmates to Damien’s bewilderment.

He’s been drawing ever since. First starting out with whatever he could get his hands on. Scraps of paper, pencils, pens, and eventually tried a little bit of everything settling on digital artwork as his main medium.

He likes drawing with traditional mediums in his down time to relax and take a break from staring at a screen.
